K. Dot stirs up a lot of questions on COMPTON!
Unless you’re living under a rock, by now you’ve heard Dr. Dre’s final album, Compton. The tribute project to N.W.A. and their upcoming biopic Straight Outta Compton has already seen critical-praise from critics and fans on social media. However, while everybody was listening in amaze to the Dre production during their first sit-down, a few surprise sneak disses have been uncovered from his third protégé, Kendrick Lamar.
Dating back to his controversial “Control” verse two years ago, K. Dot’s open challenge to the entire new breed of rappers sparked a competitive rift for all artists to create better material. One great who took the friendly jab to heart was Drake, as the 6-God remained quiet during the alleged ghostwriter subliminal on “King Kunta.”
Until Meek Mill publicly called him out by name, we were weary if Drake would live by his “Successful” lyrics from 2009 (see: never hear a reply from me). After the jaw-dropping performance on “Back to Back Freestyle” and premiering “3 Peat” earlier this week at OVO Fest, Drizzy seemed up for any challengers.
Coincidentally, his Compton music foe had yet even more subliminal rhymes in two tracks tonight on the release of N.W.A. soundtrack – “Darkside / Gone” and “Deep Water.”
We’re assuming the first diss to Drizzy was in response to his “Energy” lines talking about an un-named rapper, but be the judge for yourself in the lyrics breakdown below and by listening to the COMPTON soundtrack.
