Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ First Week Album Sales Revealed

Congrats to Drizzy, 40 and Oliver!

Drake’s Scorpion final first week album sales have officially been revealed by Billboard. Today, the publication announced that the project generated 745.9 million on-demand audio streams in the U.S. alone – setting a new all-time record for any artist in history.

The project debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, moving 732,000 equivalent album sales, of which 160,000 were in traditional album sales.

The effort marks the OVO Sound artist’s eight no. 1 album on Billboard, as well as tying Kanye West and Emimem for second-most credited no. 1 projects behind JAY-Z with 14.

Scorpion also went to earn the biggest streaming week ever for an album; breaking Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys project, which previously held the record 431.3 million.

However, the biggest news, was Drake becoming the first artist to generate one billion on-demand audio streams globally for a single week, as he shared the news last night on Instagram.

New era. New platinum. Thank you a billion times over (a billion plus). 🦂
