Drake Tops Charts With “Nothing Was The Same”

There’s no surprise here, but Drake’s Nothing Was The Same album will be #1 on the charts this week thanks to his loyal fans and he did it by a landslide. Projected to move around 660,000 to 670,000 units, there was no competition for Aubrey. If the numbers hold up, this will mark the second highest debut of 2013, behind Justin Timberlake‘s massive part one of The 20/20 Experience, which did 968,000 in its first week.

Behind Drake on the charts is Kings Of Leon for their Mechanical Bull album, Cher and Elton John who sold minimal units compared to the OVO commander-in-chief. Nielsen Soundscan numbers are set to drop tomorrow.

UPDATE: Official Nielsen Soundscan numbers are in. Drake sold 658,000 units.
