Ed Lover failed mention 2pac truth after Stretch passing, during Death Row’s last trip to New York City. As you all know, the 2pac Quad Studio shooting, led to him not having trust for the east coast. His only friends in New York were Fat Joe, Eric B and Boot Camp Click.
It got to the point where he was saying fuck the entire city after his album went triple platinum when he was still alive. However, right as he was getting out, Big Stretch was murdered on the same day of the infamous shooting. This led to him not showing up to the funeral, which 2pac had a private conversation with the family of the late rapper.
By him going to the funeral, retaliation and altercations would’ve followed him for their falling out; as well as taking away from a proper burial. Just three days before he died, Pac returned to NYC to launch Death Row East and Makaveli Records.
To this day, no other black ran record label has had their own distribution ownership after Suge Knight, which is why 2pac got full control of his masters and royalties before he passed.
However, while there in New York, he ran into Ed Lover who confronted him about not showing up to Stretch’s funeral. There, 2pac explained everything we said above; but the damage was already done for their relationship. As you can see in the picture below, Tupac’s face said it all after their conversation.
If you can’t comprehend what we’re saying, a nigga-breakdown is explained below with media.
If I get shot, and you’re one of my best friends, you’re supposed to ride with me. Regardless if you have a relationship with the person that shot me. You don’t go back to the person that shot me and relay threatening messages back from them. You also don’t get on the radio and say #FreeMe and to keep your head up; then don’t send any commissary. Don’t use my name to promote yourself.
2pac said this about Stretch.
