The last time Eminem had a show in London was back in 2001. Over a decade later, Detroit’s Marshall Mathers returned to the city for not one, but two sold out shows at Wembley Stadium this weekend, clocking in around 90,000 in attendance on both Friday and Saturday. Em makes history as the first rapper to headline the righteous UK venue, with hype man and longtime producer Mr. Porter proudly stating this fact throughout — previous acts include U2, Oasis, Coldplay, Madonna and many others.
Shady wasn’t ready to leave the stage without bringing out a special guest, with Dr. Dre making a sudden rare appearance to perform “Still Dre,” “Nuthin’ But A G Thang” and “Forgot About Dre” to an emphatic crowd, who was a standout addition to the approximate 35-song setlist. If that wasn’t enough, supporting slots were from Odd Future and Danny Brown, in addition to welcoming A$AP Rocky to perform “1 Train.”
Aftermath was certainly in the building.
