In the next episode of Fuse TV’s popular “Crate Diggas” series, Dilated Peoples own Evidence was featured to show off his vinyl collection. Evidence opened up about falling in love with Vinyl’s as a kid hearing music played during his parents’ house parties, where he would go to bed and hear music that would influence him later in life to fall in love with R&B and Soul music. He then brought out the record that made him fall in love with rap being the block-party favorite, Newcleus “Jam On Revenge”.
Things then transitioned to Ev opening up about knowing Kanye West before his fame in his early days at the ROC in 2003. He played Yeezy his “Last Call” beat while the two were in the car and originally wanted the track for Jigga (refer to Fade to Black movie), but he declined the track. Kanye was an established producer at the time trying to gain respect as a rapper, and told Evidence he was the new face of Roc-A-Fella citing the chorus sample.
