The New Jersey rapper is being sued for his hit-single

Before Taylor Swift brought the hood back to the upper eastside of Manhattan (see: Big Meech) last year with the help of Fetty Wap, the New Jersey rapper had generated nearly a half-a-billion in streams for his critically-acclaimed single, Trap Queen.” However, a new lawsuit filed by a Danish songwriter, Lazar Lakic, could have Fetty paying up a pretty penny in the coming months.

According to the suit, Lakic allegedly purchased exclusives rights to the original instrumental titled “Hello” from producer Tony Fadd, which was later sampled in Wap’s previously mentioned song.

Lazar says Fadd also contacted him in early 2015, in an attempt to buy back the rights for the track, but Lakic quickly declined. With the track seeing international success, Lakic wants to destroy all copies of the song and end all sales across the world – good luck gawd.

Fetty’s attorney, Navarro Gray told TMZ that his client legally purchased the beat from Fadd and has proper paperwork. However, if Lakic is awarded damages, Fetty’s team plans to have Fadd cover any additional cost Lazar may be looking for going forward.
