Frank Ocean Countersued by ‘Blonde’ Producer Om’Mas Keith

Om’Mas Keith has countersued Frank Ocean and denied allegations from an original lawsuit made earlier this year, according to The Blast.

Ocean sued Keith in February after the producer filed for songwriting credit on songs that he didn’t write. He claimed that Keith was paid a flat fee for production on Blonde and wasn’t entitled to songwriting credit for the songs he worked on.

Now, Keith says the flat fee was for his work on Channel Orange, and even though they hadn’t agreed a deal for Blonde, he wouldn’t accept those same terms. Ocean apparently released the songs without permission, with Keith not receiving any royalties for his work. Keith is demanding Ocean’s lawsuit is thrown out, while seeking damages for Ocean using his work and image without paying, a court order stating his is the co-author, and accounting for all profits made from the music.

According to Pitchfork, the songs Keith claims he produced and co-wrote include Blonde tracks “Nikes,” “Ivy,” “Pink + White,” “Be Yourself,” “Solo,” “Skyline To,” “Nights,” “Pretty Sweet,” “Facebook Story,” “White Ferrari,” “Siegfried,” “Godspeed,” “Futura Free”, and also Endless tracks “At Your Best” and “Florida.”
