D’Angelo
D’Angelo has been touring on and off for years, but it wasn’t until last fall that he released Black Messiah, his first album since the groundbreaking Voodoo way back in 2000. Despite being two hours late to the stage, the singer jumped into his element in the iconic venue, and it was clear to see that he hadn’t lost his groove from the neo-soul days of the late ’90s and early ’00s. A set filled with everything from “The Charade” to “Brown Sugar” concluded with an epic final performance of “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” where he gave each band member a chance to shine.
