When speaking of some of the most powerful influences in the history of hip-hop, there’s no doubt in whether Snoop Dogg would be put amongst the very best of them. From putting together his debut and arguably his most acclaimed album Doggystyle back in 1993, to the rather unusual change of persona with Reincarnated just earlier this year, Snoop’s presence is still a strong force in the mainstream spotlight.
With now an outstanding 12 solo albums against the likes of compilations, mixtapes, films and uncountable guest appearances to his name, the 1971 California-born artist sees his birthday today, just after hosting the 2013 Hip Hop Awards to add to the big occasion. To celebrate, we decided to take a look back through his catalog of studio efforts in order to bring out some of the highlights of his career. It would be impossible to pick every notable song, but we chose a tough selection for your listening pleasure.
Sit back, smoke up and enjoy this Snoop Sunday.
