Beats 1 Radio has been live for a little over a month and Apple Music has been enjoying the success of its only radio station. They have dubbed it a 24 hour radio, even though that’s not really the case. Beats 1 actually operates on 12 hour blocks and repeats, probably so other areas of the globe have the chance to listen to certain shows while others are asleep.
After being on air for over a month, people have collected data about the songs, genres, times people logged on and songs that played following another song. Some of the information shouldn’t surprise you because it makes sense.
Turns out, during the month of July and through early August, The Weeknd was the most played artist on the radio and Hip-Hop was the most played genre. Following Hip-Hop, was Alternative and Electronic to round out the Top 3. Drake, Disclosure, Fetty Wap and Jamie xx were the artists that followed The Weeknd in the Top 5 most played.
