Strictly speaking, Kanye West could arguably be classed as one of the most passionate figures of our generation. Not because of his longevity in the industry, but due to his determination to succeed on his own terms and not giving in to the gatekeepers, allowing him to further establish his role as a goalkeeper and continue to push the bar for himself and others in the industry.
Chicago has also been on the rise in recent years, and although we haven’t heard too many collaborations between Kanye and the new breed of artists, the G.O.O.D. Music general’s presence in 2013 along with the increase of quality made us think back at previous work between West and the city’s talent. Whether or not the breakthrough has partly been thanks to Ye or not, there’s definitely proven potential across all areas.
Will there be a future establishment with the likes of Save Money, Pivot Gang and Treated Crew? We’re not too sure. But here’s a taste of several outcomes from the past, and even the not so obvious. You know Yeezy loves to put on for his city when he can.
