As Cole World tells it, the concept of the video was already thought of as he was writing the track. He already knew how it was going to do gown, but it didn’t quite materialize how he wanted, until he had the conversation with Miguel himself.
Apparently, J’s management was shaky about pitching the concept to Miguel, until Cole finally stepped in and handled the situation, told him the plot for the visual and asked if he was with it. The two seemed to be already in sync about who would play the dead boyfriend, too (look at his bloody face on top of our video section right now).
Moral of the story: Beware of those crazy exes, or end up Miguel’d.
