Following the recent release of his ILOVEMAKONNEN 2 EP, Atlanta singer-rapper and producer Makonnen is preparing the upcoming roll out for his debut album. In a recent sit-down with Paper Magazine, ILOVEMAKONNEN touched on his frustration with the lack of creativity among artist and how taste makers have no idea how to decipher which artists are actually providing quality content.
With social media’s majority rule in making a slew of disposable stars overnight, he’s shied away from the thirst of industry climbing and went to open up on how he currently draws inspiration from daily interactions in person – in comparison to following trends online.
The OVO singer also discussed his untitled debut album, which he mentioned an upcoming studio session with David Guetta, as well as wrapping up sessions with Kanye West and Rick Rubin.
