In this episode with Spotify, Kendrick Lamar talks in his the studio about earlier career hard times before the group had any wealth with having to eat with each other on little to no money and also talked about their journey not being easy with the crew having to word hard to and take advantage of an opportunity given to them.
He then goes onto say, he’s not making for himself but for the people who are constantly in the struggle to move and relieve their stress. Kendrick finds himself questioning how he can make every song, title and lyric standout to make himself more relate-able to his fan base and to people who’ve never heard him before.
