Up to bat first for TDE in 2014 was newcomer Isaiah Rashad who looks to help pave the way for the West Coast collective in the new year. Just a few weeks past the release of his debut album Cilvia Demo, Mass Appeal caught up with the down to earth MC to speak on the transformation from average Joe, to Top Dawg’s ace in the hole.
The Tennessee native describes what it was like before he got signed to the Aftermath underling label, including the weeks leading up to putting ink on the dotted line when he first met TDE President, Dave Free. At just 22 years young, Rashad also explains what it’s like to travel outside the south for the first time in his life, as well as the difficulty of not being able to have his son with him.
