J. Cole Discusses Being Competitive With Kendrick Lamar On Upcoming Project

MTV.com news recently caught up with J. Cole as he took time to discuss the highly-anticipated collaboration album with Kendrick Lamar. Cole went on to say they’ve recorded songs together already but scheduling conflicts in their career has hindered the two from hitting the studio like the would like but are still going to do their best for the fans to put out a project one way or another even if it’s a EP.

He went on to reminisce about being a kid and excited for his favorite rappers to collaborate for albums that never happened and even cited the “Watch The Throne” album taking years to complete as well. The video concludes with Jermaine discussing the competitive the nature between him and K. Dot being elite emcees for the new generation of hip-hop in which they both hold pride for their craft in competition for the love of rap but remain respectful and humble around each other.

With Cole’s upcoming second studio album “Born Sinner” scheduled for a summer release and Kendrick in no rush to force a follow-up to his critically acclaimed “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” we would hope to see the project surface before the years end.
