Last night, PBS aired their latest episode of Tavis Smiley Tonight, which featured rapper-producer J. Cole. At the age of 30, the North Carolina rapper is only three months removed from his third consecutive #1 album on Billboard, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. During the 20-minute sit-down conversation, Cole touched on how his recent effort is one of the most personal body of works he’s ever constructed, as well as being one of standout storytellers currently in hip-hop. The two went to go through a few tracks from the album, to break down their significance, including “Love Yourz,” “A Tale of Two Citiez” and “Fire Squad.” Watch more from the interview, where he also details his competitive nature from childhood in school correlating with his current career and fellow music peers
