Ja Rule Discusses Usage of the N-Word by White Hip-Hop Listeners

Mr. Follow the Rules addresses hip-hop usage of the N-Word

Ja Rule’s been working on the resurrection of his career in the mainstream over the last few months, beginning with his hit fall MTV reality series, Follow the Rules. In a recent interview, Ja discussed how he’s open with using the N-word around his kids, seen on their show; but feels uncomfortable when he sees them saying it around their friends from school.

This soon transitioned things into a discussion about him being at a recent Metro Boomin live show and witnessing an entire predominately white crowd rap the censored word on Kanye West’s popular single All Day,” – and even initially laughed at the situation.

The Queens-based rapper went to say, “It’s hip-hop. The kids listen to hip-hop, they use the n-word.” While he’s educated his kids about the history of the n-word and usage around their friends, Ja still feels a certain way when he hears the word not used from some he’s comfortable with.

Loki doesn’t have a solution on how he can combat this issue, but feels something needs to happen to at least educate the youth on the past harmful use of it. Watch more on the interview above and let us know in the comments what you think on Ja’s belief about usage of the word.
