We first heard Jamie xx’s latest single “Sleep Sound” through a mix in December, and after hearing the final mastered version last month, we haven’t stopped playing the sumptuous offering. The piece has now been given a visual, which focuses on how music can be generated by only silence and creating sound through imagination.
The director was listening to music on the train one time, when a girl handed her a note explaining that she was deaf but could almost feel the music by expression. She felt a similar energy when hearing the producer’s new song for the very first time, inspiring her to work with the Manchester Deaf Centre to create a compelling video.
