TDE not letting shade for K. Dot’s accomplishments pass by lightly!
Top Dawg Entertainment has a lot to celebrate this year, with their independently owned label continuing to break grounds into the mainstream. Earlier today, the 2016 GRAMMY nominations were unveiled, revealing Kendrick Lamar had a grand total of 11 nominations.
This marked the second most nominations for an artist ever, as the Compton emcee only trailed the late Michael Jackson all-time. Before K. Dot takes over music’s biggest night, Wale took to social media earlier and felt his The Album About Nothing project was snubbed from the show.
Initially, the MMG rapper was sarcastically responding to fans in all fun, and even said Kendrick hasn’t answered his phone since the last nominations cycle in 2014. However, this prompted Jay Rock to stand up for his comrade and addresses things in a series of tweets.
While The Rock briefly mentioned Folarin about his comments, he made it clear that the entire TDE camp sees everything going on from their fellow rap peers. Take a look at the comments below.
@JourdanChaTaun ain't answered that phone since the last nomination . I get the Demi lavato treatment from him now. It's hard out here
