Earlier this week Hov hinted at some big news during the NBA Finals and tonight he didn’t disappoint fans. During a commercial break, he announced that he will be releasing his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail on July 4 and the actual Samsung commercial was quite epic, as Jay had the whole crew out for a studio session that included Rick Rubin, Pharrell, Timbaland & Swizz Beatz. They all shared ideas and discussed music.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a million copies will be given away for free to the public 72 hours ahead of the July 4th release date, worth a reported $5 a piece for each, paid ahead of time by Samsung. The only question remains, whether Nielsen Soundscan will count those sales towards the release. Platinum, already.
