Last December, Rita Ora made a bold move in her career, when she decided to file a lawsuit on California’s seven-year rule, for an immediate release from her Roc Nation contract.
With the UK singer feeling JAY Z put more focus into his sports management agency and TIDAL, Ora has been on the shelf since her self-titled debut album from 2012. However, R.N. filed a counter $2.4-million-dollar suit of their own, citing they spent millions on promoting and marketing her unreleased sophomore album – saying she hasn’t fulfilled contractual obligations.
Following three headlining tours and four years passed, fans may finally be getting their next album from Rita, as both parties have apparently come to an agreement this week to end both lawsuits.
The settlement, which was reached out of court, reportedly allows the singer to leave Columbia Records and join the Warner Music Group. Exact terms of the deal weren’t made public, but she posted a new contract on her snapchat account earlier, with the caption “Contract Time.”
For those of you looking forward to a new Rita Ora album, stay tuned for more details.
