JAY Z & Timbaland Attend “Big Pimpin'” Copyright Trial

JAY Z & Timbaland Face Trial in LA

JAY Z and Timbaland have been filmed leaving court in Los Angeles this week after attending a trial over “Big Pimpin.” The song with UGK, taken from Hov’s 1999 album Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter, has been accused of using the melody from Baligh Hamdi’s 1957 song “Khosara Khosara” without permission. Timbaland initially used elements of the song thinking they were free, but after learning it was owned by EMI Music Arabia, he paid $100,000 for the license. Baligh’s nephew Osama Ahmed Fahmy first filed a complaint in 2007.
