It looks like Jay-Z is really about that #newrules life. The New York Post is reporting that in celebration of the release of his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail, Hov will hold a free concert in the middle of Times Square in NYC. According to the report, the show will go down on July 8th, which is one day after the album will officially be available worldwide.
This is just the latest groundbreaking move Jigga has made during this album run, one that has included commercials during the NBA Finals, an exclusive app for album content, and even a NYC scavenger hunt to find the tracklist. The only hitch in this whole plan is that Hov has to get permission from the Mayor’s office to hold the show, but lets be honest, Jay runs New York so it should be no problem.
UPDATE: The concert has been approved by the city of New York and will take place on top of the Ed Sullivan Theatre Marque. Get ready NY, Jigga is about to take over once again.
