Need a Joey x Jay collab, though
When Joey Bada$$ was entering the rap game at the age of 17 some time ago, one person who reached out to him during his original 1999 mixtape run, was rapper-mogul JAY Z. The Pro Era rapper would contemplate whether or not he wanted to join the prestigious roster and respectfully declined the offer – in order to upstart his own movement and brand.
However, just because Joey isn’t on the Roc, doesn’t mean he still can’t enjoy classics from the legendary label. As part of Thisis50’s “His Favorite Verse In Hip Hop” series, the star of USA Network’s Mr. Robot recites the DJ Premier-produced classic from Jigga, “Friend or Foe.”
