On same day Dipset reunited to release their Diplomatic Ties album, former members JR Writer, Hell Rell and 40 Cal. have joined forces to release a project of their own. The Upstage is made up of eight tracks from the trio, recruiting Tom Gist and A Mafia on several tracks.
The song “No Reunions” references the fact that they’re no longer working with Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey. “All my n****s still here, we don’t need no reunions,” JR raps on the record. “Truth is, you guys corny, you’ll never get fly on me.”
