#DONDA next Friday. . .
Kanye West DONDA vs. Drake CLB album release date story examined, after a member of the G.O.O.D. Music team makes comments. Last week, Karen Civil confirmed that the issues between Kanye West and Drake have been resolved. While those near each situation may not completely agree, the elephant in the room has been mentioned again.
Over the weekend Consequence took to social media to say G.O.O.D. Music is looking for Drake’s release date and for Swizz Beatz to line up a VERZUZ battle. This is large in part due to many saying that this is the best Kanye project they’ve heard in years.
With Yeezy going as far as to move into the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to focus on the project; we’re curious why Drake would even be on their mind. However, we realized an article that was published from this platform last spring, revealing that Drake dissed Kanye on his Wants and Needs single.
In the article, we stated that Kanye had been using Drake for promotion in recent years, as it happened again with someone from his inner circle. While the two are following each other on social media, there is still competitive rivalry in wanting to be the best in the game.
However, after breaking the Apple Music record for a live event over the weekend, the last thing we need to see is focus on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album. Putting attention to anything else but finishing the masterpiece many are calling, would be detrimental to his album rollout and have people shift focus elsewhere to Drake and other music greats.
3.3 million people tuned into the Apple Music live stream from DONDA, breaking the previous record from the Gucci Mane and Jeezy VERZUS battle last November. Considering Drake confirmed that CLB will be releasing before the end of summer, August seems like the most likely date – if he doesn’t drop this week to close July.
Look at media below and let us know in the comments what you think.
