Yeezy clears the air about last Sunday’s controversy
Over the weekend, Kanye West created unfortunate controversy from critics and media when in his E! post-GRAMMYs interview. After Beck was announced as winner for Album of the Year, Kanye teased a rendition of his 2009 stage interruption of Taylor Swift’s MTV VMA acceptance speech, but would jokingly return to his seat.
Ironically, Taylor Swift was a main encourager of Yeezy expressing his opinion on the stage, as the two were even seen together various times throughout the event – revealing future collaborative plans in the works. In an interview Wednesday morning with Ryan Seacrest for KIIS, the legendary Chicago musician opened up on the Sunday night issue, which even Beck told him soon after that Beyoncé should’ve won the award.
Yeezy went to open up on how his rift with Beck winning isn’t black or white issue, but a problem only with the GRAMMY Awards. Listen to the full interview above, including his upcoming collection release for Adidas, executive producing Rihanna’s upcoming R8 album and whether or not he will be attending the big event next year.
