A few days ago, David Cho, ex-publisher of The Awl and Grantland was guest on ItstheReal’s A Waste of Time podcast to share rare stories. During the two-hour conversation, he touched on being around the creation of process of JAY Z and Kanye West’s collaboration album, Watch the Throne.
Originally, Yeezy had an idea including the “N-Word” with every song title – including the acclaimed hit, “Niggas in Paris.” The G.O.O.D. Music rapper soon said, “We’re gonna put the N-word in every single title on this album, so everyone has to say it and they have to confront it.”
This prompted HOV to request the record to be renamed to “Ball so Hard,” which he bargained with Mr. West for that song only. Take a listen to the story of some hilarious moments with Cho’s first meeting with an entertainment idol and more.
