Despite her work as part of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, we’ve only heard a small amount of official solo material from Karen O in her career. Today, the New Jersey singer has announced her debut solo album Crush Songs, which was recorded eight years ago during a time when she was unsure of whether she would fall in love again.
Now happily married, Karen is currently preparing to put the entire project out in the open, with hope of helping listeners through their own lives. The LP will be released on September 9th via Cult Records, containing a custom envelope with 15 cards of personal drawings and hand-written lyrics in the limited signed version.
