Very few artists in the music game have a 30-year career, but one of the pioneers of New Jack Swing, Keith Sweat, is still active in the R&B world. But now, the Harlem OG is gearing up for the release of his twelfth studio album, Dress to Impress, which arrives next Friday.

However, earlier today, Mr. Sweat stopped by Power 105 for a rare interview with The Breakfast Club. Throughout the nearly hour-long conversation, he opened up on his history working at the town’s stock exchange but transitioning his true passion of music.

After describing his early workings with Teddy Riley and starting his own record imprint after a bad initial major deal, he went to explain penning several hits for the biggest names in music. Keith also shared a revelation that he almost started a R&B super-group with R. Kelly, which was originally set to also features members of the LSG group – but Kellz pulled out last second.

Before the interview concluded, he touched on Miguel having potential to be legendary and cited that he loves the entire T R A P S O U L album from Bryson Tiller.
