Kendrick Lamar Discusses Receiving Praise From Nas For “good kid, m.A.A.d city”

Fuse TV caught up with Kendrick Lamar recently to discuss Nas calling his debut studio album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” the album of the year. Ironically, Nas received praise for his “Life Is Good” album which released the same year as Esco still felt it was necessary to show the new generation love with showing his appreciation for Kendrick Lamar being one of the leaders to carry the hip-hop torch today. Kendrick was flattered saying anybody could tell the influence Nas has in his music making quality material for the culture.

He also touched on the process of making his debut album and couldn’t knock anybody in 2012 but definitely felt like he released the album of the year just based on the hours of dedication and preparations he put into its release. Kendrick closed out saying nothing is new with what he did crediting Pac, Nas and Hova for doing it in the past as he felt it was a lost art in the genre and wanted to bring “it” back for the new generation.
