K. Dot blends his jazz-influenced sounds with Opera this October!
Remember last year when Nas performed his entire Illmatic album at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra? Well, the orchestra in Washington has revealed they have tapped Kendrick Lamar to make his classic debut for his latest album, To Pimp A Butterfly.
The one-night only event, which is set for October 20th, will be conducted by principal pops conductor for the orchestra, Steven Reineke. Whether or not the Compton rapper will perform the entire album remains to be seen, but we can expect a large chunk of critically-acclaimed LP throughout the night. Tickets are currently sold out, but you can still try to purchase them tomorrow morning at 10:00am on the Kennedy Center’s website.
