Kendrick Lamar Speaks On His Upbringing And Parents Influence In Pursuing Music

In part one of the VEVO’S LIFT series, Kendrick Lamar gave us a tour his old Compton high school and spoke on his childhood growing up. As the series continues with part two, Kendrick gives us insight to where he grew up in the Westside of Compton as well as growing up with a family that listened to Marvin Gaye and Snoop Dogg. He also speaks on his parents being very supportive of his music career, insisting it would be a positive route to go and help his community.

The debut album by Kendrik Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city hits stores October 2nd.
