Kid ‘n Play Talk Career Timeline & Music Beefs with The Breakfast Club

Watch Kid ‘n Play x The Breakfast Club

Today, Kid ‘n Play were featured on this week’s Throwback Thursday edition of The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God. During our childhoods, we personally idolized the duo growing up, from their House Party series to original dance moves in the early 1990s.

While Christopher “Kid” Reid soon pursued a stand-up comedy career in Hollywood, Christopher “Play” Martin soon changed his life around converting to religion after the pair put their music career on hold. In the conversation, the two discuss their entire timeline in the music industry, including their come up with Salt-N-Pepa and Martin Lawrence, as well as Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The most interesting part of the two dropping jewels in the brief interview, was how Class Act was semi-biographical, as the two played real-life counterparts of themselves before the fame.

Watch more from the conversation above, where they talk rifts with Uncle Luke, Vanilla Ice and how Play was lucky enough to land Lisa McDowell back in the day.
