Stay tuned for the ‘Montage Of Heck’ album later this year!
Last April, HBO premiered their Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck documentary, which was met with an overwhelming response of praise from critics and fans. Soon after, an unreleased song surfaced from the alternative-rock legend surfaced, which teased at potential future efforts to become public. Now 21 years later after his unfortunate death, Universal Music is planning for an official posthumous solo album from the Nirvana front-man this holiday season.
The soundtrack for Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck will be an obvious automatic purchase for long-time fans of the grunge musician, but newer fans that weren’t around to purchase initial material while he was alive will get their chance to support new previously unreleased Cobain music for the first time ever.
The documentary is set to have a release on November 6th, which has also been revealed as the retail street date for the album. Previously consisting of 50 demos, the songs were mixed into 200 hours of audio, as Widow Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain will serve as co-executive producers.
Look for official track-listing and single roll-outs to begin in the coming weeks.
