Learn more about SZA’s long road to TDE in “Where I’m From”
New Joisey singer-songwriter, SZA has had a breakout year in the music world with the release of her major debut EP, Z. Although may have been touting her as the girl of Los Angeles hip-hop staple Tog Dawg Entertainment, SZA’s been heavily preparing for her debut album A set to drop in the coming months – for others to take her work serious. JAY Z’s Life+Times series caught up with the young songstress to give an outlook on her long journey to becoming a motivated and dedicated musician at the tender age of 23.
Along with brief highlights from her Made in America 2014 performance with Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad, she opens up on advice from Kendrick Lamar and the rest of Black Hippy, including her earliest aspirations and influences for music surprisingly being from MF Doom.
