Lil Wayne Sells His Masters to Universal Music Group for $100 Million

Looks like Lil Wayne is cashing in on his catalog because a new deal with the rapper has surfaced. According to TMZ, Weezy F. Baby sold his masters to Universal Music Group for $100 million back in June. The deal has come to surface because of a new lawsuit against the rapper.

Wayne’s former manager Ronald Sweeney is suing him for $20 million dollars, claiming that Weezy hired him to renegotiate a deal with Birdman and Cash Money back in 2005. After the two sides settled their CMB lawsuit in 2018, Sweeney never got paid from the settlement and he believes he is owed more.

He also claims that he fired Cortez Bryant because of conflict of interest pertaining Drake and Cash Money Records and he got his commission (up from 10 percent to seventeen percent), his duties and became the day-to-day manager.

Ultimately he was fired in 2018 because he says Mack Maine and Cortez Bryant conspired against him.

We’ll see how the lawsuit works out.
