The Young Money vs. Ca$h Money saga continues. . .
The Lil Wayne rift with Birdman has been one of the more shocking situations we’ve seen in the world of hip-hop this decade. While we never expected Tunechi to part ways with his former mentor, the previous $51 million dollar lawsuit appears to be bigger than his artistry.
We expected this situation to be resolved internally before the end of the year, but new reports from TMZ has surfaced about alleged mistreatment of Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga.
Both Drizzy and T-Raww sent letters to Wayne about financial disputes, while Nicki reportedly claimed that her producers weren’t paid – something she thought was the label’s responsibility.
While neither of the three neutral parties have filed legal action about improper business practices, Weezy is speaking up for his protégé’s, revealing within the lawsuit complaints from all parties.
According to Wayne, Universal Records reportedly paid the label a $100 million advance for future album releases within the umbrella, but cites that his former friend didn’t split the wealth with artist and producers. In CMR’s defense, the label sites that Tunechi was originally supposed to deliver 21 Young Money albums in seven years, but has only turned in 13. With major names surrounding this new finding, we’re skeptical if this situation will be repaired outside of a courtroom.
