With Apple Music gaining a following through their Beats 1 Radio and music exclusives, Spotify have been playing the background role since its inception, even though they are the biggest streaming service out. To make a splash, the platform has reached out to the highest forms of government and collaborated with The White House for a pair of playlists that are coming from the President of the United States himself.
President Obama has made two playlists: a day and night edition, both of which include some timeless music on it. The Day playlist for the summer is more upbeat and features music from The Temptations, Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, John Legend, Justin Timberlake and more. The night edition, carries a slower vibe, with songs from John Coltrane, Al Green, Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, Nina Simone, Mos Def, Miles Davis and Billie Holiday.
All and all, you can say the president is a cool cat, picking a good balance of records and throwing a splash of some feel-good hip-hop in the mix.
