You may or may not be aware, but Stones Throw Records will be releasing a documentary and soundtrack on May 27 titled Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton (This is Stones Throw Records), which chronicles the rise of the label. The Jeff Broadway-directed film will come with commentary from the likes of PB Wolf, Kanye West, Questlove, Snoop Dogg, Madlib, Common, Mayer Hawthorne, Mike D, Dam-Funk, Tyler the Creator and will boast unreleased beats from Madlib (like the one above) and various tracks from their catalog that were used for the film.
The documentary is years in the making and a must for fans of music.
