Chicago rapper and poet Malcolm London is returning to last year’s OPIA project with an official video for “Westside in the Rain.” The song, named after his area of the Chi, gets a Holiday Kirk-directed visual that brings out the city’s positive side.
The video is dedicated to John Walt, the Pivot Gang rapper who was murdered on February 8th. “In a city like Chicago, you can hear about a random act of violence and know the person who was murdered and the person who killed them,” London says about the climate of his home.
