FREE Baby Gangsta!
With the help of Nas and Mass Appeal Records, Mannie Fresh is planning to release his next album under the imprint – which ironically is a Trojan horse to eventually reuniting the entire Ca$h Money Millionaires. The New Orleans DJ recently touched on his long-standing relationship with Juvenile and how the fallout with Baby and Lil Wayne is coincidentally bringing all sides together.
While Tunechi may still his issues with the main label, Mannie touched on how he’s helping CMR look past their issues with providing some crazy production in the studio. Although general Baby Gangsta is still locked in prison for the rest of the decade, Fresh revealed he has some unreleased vocals of the incarcerated rapper that still haven’t been heard. His plan is to eventually do an entire Hot Boys reunion but wants to bring back their original feel good music at the moment.
Everything is not resolved with him and Wayne, but I overcame it by saying to them, “We can resolve all that behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people.”
The incredible thing is, I probably got like three more songs with Wayne and Juve. When we got in there, Wayne of course was like, “Pull up another track.” So I did, and he did that one, and I did the same thing. We probably did five songs that night, songs with that old Cash Money sound. The hard part is convincing them to do the whole [Hot Boys] album.
