DJ ficky-fresh-freh-fre-fresh.
The legendary Mannie Fresh was recently interviewed in Washington D.C. for NPR’s “Microphone Check” and one of the highlights of their time on stage was Mannie hopping on the 1’s and 2’s and playing remixes of tracks of his choosing. This stemmed from the question about how he approaches DJ’ing and whether he caters to the crowd or if he only plays what he wants. His answer, “I’m gonna make you feel it.”
That’s when DJ Fresh showed everyone how be “bounces” everything and makes people feel it, whether they intended to or not. Among the songs that he remixed, include Earth Wind & Fire, Janet Jackson, DeBarge and a chopped up (not screwed) version of 2pac and Dr. Dre’s “California Love.” He even remixed Kenny Chesney!
All from an iPad.
You can watch the real dope 25 minute set after the jump or download it, if you want to rock with it on your own time. We’ll take a mix from Mannie any day.
