This might be our first time posting a Marc E. Bassy project around these parts, but he’s got some shit with his latest East Hollywood EP. After listening to the full thing, he mixes a little bit of rap with more sung melodies in slow jams and more uptempo records. The effort came out of a dark place for Bassy, after experiencing the loss of a girlfriend and the break up of his band.
Some of the best art comes from tough times, though. And it’s certainly reflected in East Hollywood. The Bay Area channels all those feelings through the nine tracks found here, which should definitely put people on to his work.
