Record Store Day 2014 is a little less than a month away and today, Mayer Hawthorne and Tokyo based artist Shintaro Sakamoto are making it aware that they are releasing a split 7″ record with different versions of tracks off their latest albums. The special edition vinyl will feature Sakamoto singing in Japanese over Hawthorne’s “Wine Glass Woman,” while the b-side will have Hawthorne singing “In A Phantom Mood” (above).
The original Sakamoto beat is not far off from something we’d hear Mayer on so we can see why the two linked up with the special release.
