If you watched his Thank God For The Day documentary earlier this week, Metro Booomin sat down with Fader to discuss an array of topics. From the death of his friend Bankroll Fresh, to working with Drizzy on the highly-anticipated Views From The 6 project, Young Metro will be getting very little rest over the next few months. Not to mention helping upstart the careers of Lil Uzi Vert, 12 Savage and Madeintyo – he’s also having to manage the elite egos of Future and Young Thug. While both Atlanta stars may be dominating rap playlists around the world, he went to touch on the respectable competitiveness the two have shared over the last two years.
On Future and Young Thug’s competitive rivalry
“Yeah, it’s some crazy shit. You can’t have either one of them feel like you fucking with the other one more than them. Either one of them would be offended. You gotta remain neutral as much as possible. Atlanta, man—everybody’s a male, there’s a lot of ego. Somebody gotta be number one. Neither one of them are the type to settle for number two. I feel like they both motivate each other, and it’s good for the culture and the music—just as long as it stay at that.”
