Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, has got himself into a bit of trouble this year. In January, he was arrested for violating immigration laws, after he attempted to leave South Africa with a world passport after overstaying his visitor’s permit.
Now, Mos Def has finally been give permission to leave the country, but he won’t be able to return. “[He] has unreservedly apologized to the Government of South Africa,” said the Home Affairs Department in a statement. “The department is satisfied with the apology [and] will withdraw the charges against him.”
