Imagine a world where Total Request Live is back on cable (what is this? The year 2000?) and playing on MTV in the afternoons? Oh wait, that’s actually going to happen this fall thanks to MTV president Chris McCarthy. The network executive has announced the TRL will be making a comeback in October, with the studio overlooking Times Square like old times.
Carson Daly will be nowhere to be found, though.
Instead, five relatively unknown co-hosts will take over the show in the months ahead as MTV plots the relaunch of old shows for the new generation. The likes of DC Young Fly, Erik Zachary and more will be on the microphone talking to celebrities and playing music videos.
Will you be tuning in?
